These works, ‘Études’ (French for ‘studies’), are the result of an aesthetic research inspired by archeology and geology. I took inspiration from the way time and decay affect objects and materials.
I first sculpt hot glass to a rough shape, add some textures and then, with a process of grinding and polishing, I reveal the shiny and colorful interior of the piece.
I like the idea of cracking open a rough geode stone to reveal the shiny crystals on the inside or how an old dirty relic buried in the ground can give precious details and information from the past to whom can see it.
